Course description
Understanding the causes of aircraft accidents and incidents is critical for improving aviation safety. This training equips participants with the knowledge and tools to conduct structured and unbiased investigations - from fieldwork and evidence collection to analysis and final reporting.
Following ICAO Annex 13 standards, participants will learn how to identify causal and contributing factors, apply accident causation models, and develop safety recommendations aimed at preventing recurrence. The course emphasizes the importance of data integrity, human factors, and clear communication with stakeholders throughout the investigation process.
By the end of the training, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of the investigation lifecycle and the competence to contribute effectively to safety improvement initiatives.

Meet your instructor
Faisal Bashir Bhura
Faisal is an Aerospace Engineer; augmented with a demonstrated professional experience of 23 years at Pakistan Air Force as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Aircraft Accident Investigator and Aviation Safety Instructor. Currently, he's working for Serene Air Pvt Ltd, Pakistan as Manager Safety Management System since 2022, and a PCAA Certified Aviation Security and SMS Instructor for training of cockpit and cabin crew.
In September 2022, Faisal's paper was shortlisted by ATSB for International Conference of ISASI, Brisbane, Australia where he received a Certificate of Appreciation from the President, Australian Society for Air Safety Investigators (ASASI). He was also selected in the Fellowship Program at Singapore Aviation Academy for Aircraft Accident Investigation and Management Course.
Faisal has conducted more than 2000 investigations including a major crash accident investigation of F-16 Fighter Aircraft. He also holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Aviation Management, Masters in Science (MS) in War Studies, Post Graduate Diploma in Maintenance Safety Management and Bachelors of Engineering (BE) in Aerospace. Additionally, he's a Member of Royal Aeronautical Society (UK), Associate of Kenyon International (UK) and Member of the International Society of Air Safety Investigators.
