The Safety Investigation Process and Management course is essential in order to be able to work with other investigators and manage a small investigation team and if the state investigation authority conducts an investigation, then the airline investigator needs be aware of their responsibilities and entitlements. 


The safety investigation process and management course is geared for the investigation of serious incidents and includes information about the ICAO investigation protocol, guidelines for investigation management, and general information regarding the investigation process within the safety management system.

 

Participants will be able to use this course to help them to manage internal incident investigations, to understand their responsibilities and entitlements should they be called upon to be an advisor in an external investigation and gain insight into some important management tools.

  • Learn some important general principles relating to investigation
  • Appreciate the difference between accidents and incidents and when incidents should be investigated
  • Be able to use some data management tools
