Course description
This training provides participants with hands-on insights and real-world strategies to successfully engage airlines, airports, and tourism boards in developing sustainable air services. Drawing from frontline case studies, it explores how collaborative approaches can unlock new routes, strengthen connectivity, and enhance tourism growth.
Through interactive sessions and group discussions, participants will examine best practices for building business cases that answer the critical airline question: “Why should we fly to your destination?” The course also covers incentives, marketing support programs, and methods for measuring route success and tourism impact.
Participants enrolled in this class will receive access to the Building Successful Routes: How Airlines, Airports and Tourism Boards Work Together course 14 days prior to the start of the training. It is strongly recommended that they complete it before Day 1 to ensure a solid foundation for the live sessions.
By the end of this course, participants will understand how to align stakeholder interests, present compelling proposals, and develop airlift strategies that deliver mutual value across the aviation and tourism sectors.

Gavin Eccles has over 30 years’ experience in marketing and strategic management, and in his consultancy and advisory positions, Gavin is responsible for ensuring the success of marketing, communication, and business planning strategies for a range of international organizations, where his client work has taken him across the globe in the design and delivery of client assignments. Gavin has extensive experience in developing business strategies and works alongside Senior Management to shape their corporate approach. This work has been conducted in international clients as diverse as American Airlines, British Airways, Marks and Spencer, Shell, BBC, Guinness, Marriott Hotels, and, most recently been developing airport strategies across Europe, the Caribbean, and the Middle East.
