Course description
Accurate and compliant travel document checks are among the most critical responsibilities in passenger handling. Airlines and ground handling companies must ensure every traveler holds the correct documentation required for entry to their destination - failure to do so can result in major operational disruption, significant fines, and reputational impact.
This course provides a practical introduction to travel document verification, covering regulatory requirements, document integrity, passenger profiling, and tools used to support decision-making. Participants will learn how to assess passports, visas, and other entry-related documents, recognize basic security features, and apply structured checks throughout the customer journey.
Grounded in current industry standards and best practices, the training equips frontline personnel with the confidence to perform efficient, accurate checks that support border integrity and safeguard airline and handler compliance.

Ąžuolas Balčius
Ąžuolas Balčius has 9+ years of airport passenger service operations experience and has worked with +10 different airlines at Vilnius International airport. As an Instructor at Baltic Ground Services (BGS) he has delivered trainings for passenger service personnel.
Besides passenger service operations, his main expertise is travel document regulations and checks. He has successfully provided travel document checks training in Lithuania, Poland, and Georgia.
Ąžuolas’ courses are practical, focusing on examples and interactions with the students. The main goal is to help students analyze and ask questions rather than memorize information.
